תקציר העבודה:

אובדן פרינטלי (perinatal loss), הוא מושג הכולל מקרים של הפלה בשלבי ההריון השונים, לידת תינוק מת ומותם של תינוקות רכים זמן קצר לאחר לידתם. תופעה זו, היא לצערנו תופעה שכיחה. במחקרים נמצא כי %20 מההריונות מסתיימים בצורה זו (Nackerud, & Robinson, Baker, 1999). למרות שכיחותה הגבוהה של התופעה, נראה כי החברה לא מתייחסת לאובדן זה כאובדן ממשי, אלא כאירוע לא נעים שהשתיקה יפה לו. בעבודתנו זו, אנו מעונינות לפרוץ את מעגל השתיקה, ולהבהיר את משמעותו הייחודית של האובדן הפרינטלי בקונטקסט של תהליכי עיבוד האבל ע"י ההורים וההשלכות בפיתוח דפוסי ההתקשרות לילד הבא. אחת התופעות השכיחות לאחר אובדן פרינטלי היא ניסיון התעברות נוסף. ישנם חוקרים הסוברים כי הריון כזה, הכרוך בחרדות ובעיכוב תהליך פתרון האבל, עלול להיות בעל השלכות שליליות על ההריון עצמו, על בריאותה הנפשית של האם ועל מערכת ההתקשרות עם ילדה החדש. הילדים הנולדים מיד לאחר אובדן פרינטלי עלולים להוות קבוצת סיכון לפיתוח בעיות התפתחותיות שונות ופיתוח דפוסי התקשרות לא בטוחים, בלתי מאורגנים במערכת היחסים עם הוריהם.
