תקציר העבודה:

חשיבותם המכרעת של ההורים בהתפתחותו התקינה של ילדם, הודגשה על ידי תאורטיקנים רבים של יחסי אובייקט. תיאוריות אלה רואות את הקשר בין הילד להוריו כגורם מכריע בהתפתחות וקביעת הבריאות הנפשית של הילד בעתיד.
ליקויים בהורות גורמים כפועל יוצא מכך לקשיים בהסתגלות הילד ועלולים לפגוע ברווחתו, בבריאותו הנפשית ובהתפתחותו התקינה.
מחלת נפש כרונית גורמת לפגיעה מתמשכת בתפקודים ההוריים לאורך זמן, ולפיכך חושפת את ילדי ההורים החולים לסיכון מיוחד. משפחה בה מתרחשת מחלת נפש היא למעשה משפחה החיה במצב של משבר מתמשך, והשפעותיו של משבר זה על הילד קשות לוודאי. על כן, כפי שמעידים מחקרים רבים שנעשו בתחום, לילדים להורים חולי נפש הפרעות קשות בהסתגלות בתחומים שונים.
בעבודה זו אנסה לבדוק את הסתגלותם של ילדים להורים סכיזופרנים על-פני שלושה תחומים: רגשי, משפחתי וחברתי. אעשה זאת תוך סקירת חומר תיאורטי בנושא, וכן בהסתמך על חומר קיים העוסק בחשיבות ההורים להתפתחות הילד, בהשפעת הורות לקויה על הילד ובמצב של מחלת נפש של הורה כמשבר בחיי המשפחה והילד.
