* נקודת המוצא של עבודה זו היא, שיש מאבק רחב ביותר לדמוקרטיזציה של החברה הפלסטינית, ועבודה זו עוסקת בשאלה : באיזה תנאים מתנהל מאבק זה?
* איך קשור פרוץ האנתיפאדה השניה למאבק לדמוקרטיה?
* האם יכול להתקיים תהליך דמוקרטי בלי ריבונות?

תשובה קצרה: על רקע השנה החולפת (מאז CAMP DAVID ) נראה לי חשוב לברר, איך הגענו למצב של חזרה למצב של אינתיפאדה.
שרון אמר לפני שנים: ה"שמאל" לא יפגין נגד הטבח שיתרחש [על-ידי הרשות הפלסטינית, בחסותנו], כמו שהוא הפגין נגדי בגלל צברה ושתילה.

הפלסטינים אוהבים להשוות עצמם עם מקרה דרום-אפריקה, אך אין כוונה ולא אפשרות במסגרת עבודה זו להיכנס להשוואות עם ישראל או מדינות ערב או כל אוכלוסיה אחרת. מבחינה זו עבודה זו היא case study.
