תקציר העבודה:

"לשאול שאלות זו אומנות" כתב 1951) Stanely Payne), כאשר ניסה לתמצת את המיקצועיות הנדרשת לשם עריכת ראיון (INTERVIEW) שנועד להציג הערכה איכותית של המרואיין ומוסיף, כי השאלות בסוג כזה של ראיון, כעקרון, צריכות להיות פתוחות, נייטרליות, רגישות, ובהירות. קל וחומר, נכונה ההערה, כאשר מדובר בראיון עם אישה שנולדה גבר ועברה ניתוח-שינוי מין. א' שינה את מינו בגיל 19, וכיום הוא אישה עדינה ויפה, בעלת חיוך שובה העונה לשם א'.
בתיווכו של צד שלישי, התאפשר לי לערוך איתה ראיון, חד פעמי, קצר יחסית, בנסיבות ספונטניות לגמרי. האפשרות לראיין טראנסקסואליסט, שעבר ניתוח לשינוי-מין, על כל המורכבות והרגישות של הנושא הטעון חברתית, תרבותית, דתית, ופוליטית, נראתה לי חד-פעמית והחלטתי, תוך התארגנות קצרה, לנצל את האפשרות לשם יישום מטרות
העבודה הנוכחית. הפגישה נערכה בדירתה של הבחורה, בשעות אחר הצהריים, בה סיפרה לי חלקים מסיפור חייה המרתק.
